UNAW GALLERY proudly presents Flowing Moonlight, a solo exhibition by Haechan Kang from July 3 to August 23, 2025. This exhibition delves into the atmospheric density found at the boundary between reality and fantasy, through Kang’s exploration of light, air, and time.

Flowing Moonlight transcends traditional landscape painting, creating sensory topographies where the essence of moments—such as the humidity of a summer night or the chill of a winter evening—take center stage. Kang employs interference pigments, offering optical instability and symbolizing the temporal fluidity present in his work. This technique invites viewers to engage with the painting not merely as fixed images but as perceptual fields resonating with the ebb and flow of light and shadow.

Recurring motifs do not simply symbolize reality but resonate as perceptual memories, moving away from romantic tradition toward a contemplation of the boundaries between the seen and the sensed.

This exhibition challenges viewers to reconsider overlooked thresholds of daily life, inviting them to experience the immobility of time through Kang’s gentle and shimmering canvases.
