2025년 7월 3일부터 8월 23일까지, 유나 갤러리에서 열리는 강해찬 작가의 개인전 《Flowing Moonlight》는 그 동안 우리가 지나쳐왔던 시간과 계절의 풍경을 새롭게 조명합니다. 이번 전시는 대기와 시간의 유동적인 흐름을 회화적 언어로 풀어낸 그의 작품들을 통해 감각 자체에 관한 깊은 성찰을 제공합니다.
강해찬의 작업은 빛, 공기, 물과 같은 주변 환경의 비가시적 요소들을 회화로 시각화하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 이러한 조건은 그의 작품이 특정 장소를 그리는 것이 아니라, 그 순간의 질감과 색조를 포착하는 감각적 지형도를 구축하는 데 기여합니다.

Flowing Moonlight: Exploring the Streams of Sensation in Haechan Kang's Solo Exhibition
UNAW GALLERY is thrilled to present Flowing Moonlight, a solo exhibition by artist Haechan Kang, from July 3 to August 23, 2025. This exhibition invites us to revisit the landscapes of time and seasons we have previously overlooked, through paintings that explore the fluidity of atmosphere and time through a painterly lexicon.
Kang's practice revolves around visualizing the intangible elements of our environment, such as light, air, and water. These components contribute to his construction of sensory topographies, capturing the textures and hues of moments rather than static locations.
Crucial to this exhibition is Kang's innovative use of interference pigments, which add an intricate layer to his work. These pigments change in color and sheen with the viewer's angle, imbuing his pieces with a sense of temporality and fluidity, and shifting perception from fixed images to transitions of sensation.
Kang's paintings often incorporate recurring motifs like windows, branches, and silhouettes to evoke familiar landscapes. These elements exist not as mere symbols, but as echoes of perception, distinguishing his work from traditional romantic landscapes and aligning it with contemporary explorations of how painting can bridge the visible and the visceral.
