From July 3 to August 23, 2025, UNAW GALLERY hosts Haechan Kang's solo exhibition, Flowing Moonlight, which delves into the intricate relationship between sensation and painting. Bringing together 31 meticulously crafted paintings from 2022 to 2025, alongside new works and hitherto unseen early sketches, the exhibition captures the shimmering air and time shifts of summer nights and winter evenings.
Kang's exploration extends beyond conventional landscape painting, focusing on unseen yet palpable atmospheric elements such as moisture, light, and air. His canvases invite us to experience the tactile sensation of a mildewed summer breeze or the brisk chill of a winter dusk, offering an immersive encounter rather than mere visual pleasure.
He transforms painting into a 'sensory landscape.'
