Title: Flowing Moonlight: 강해찬 작가가 그리는 시간과 감각의 초상

UNAW Gallery is proud to present Flowing Moonlight, a solo exhibition by Haechan Kang running from July 3 to August 23, 2025. This exhibition focuses on the fluid passages of time and sensation over the past three years, capturing the intangible elements through painterly expression. The title "Flowing Moonlight" encapsulates the core concerns of Kang's practice: the flow of light, the softness of transformative moments, and the ephemeral beauty found in the interstitial spaces.

Kang's creations diverge from traditional landscape paintings to form what may be described as a 'sensory map.' Instead of depicting specific places, his works capture the texture of moments—humidity in the air, the density of twilight, the shimmer of light through distant windows. His creations translate the fleeting sensations of perception into painterly surfaces, constructing a delicate network of memories and feelings.

A notable feature is the artist's use of interference pigments, materials that change color and sheen based on viewing angles. This optical instability serves as a metaphor for the fluidity of sensation and memory, reminding us that these are never static.
